True sunsets and BBQs

We went to Freo South Beach the other day and managed to catch the sunset I was on about in previous posts. It was about 6.15pm and as we sat on the beach, drinking Iced tea - Yes - Iced TEA!!! the sun set and seemed to sink into the Indian Ocean.

It inpsired us so much, we had to go do the real Aussie thing...

...and buy a Barbie - Not the plastic doll either!

Cheers!

Childrens Festival in Samson

We were looking through the 'West' (West Australian Paper) last Saturday to see what was on over the weekend and noticed that there was a Children's Festival just off South Street in Samson Reserve, so we thought we'd give it a go...

... and glad we did.

There were Aboriginal performers, Stalls, Tea, Cakes, Games and challenges. Just like the rock-climbing that the girls fancied a go at - Noonie made it slightly higher than Nutty, but both had a real good go at it. Well done!!!

Kings Park too!

Another chance to use the BBQs at KP, so we had to go...

...It's one of our favourite places as every time you go there, you see something different.

We had a walk around the Federation Tree top walk and then the Banksia garden - Wonderful!!!

We'll take you there when you come to see us.

New chairs/Swings

Went to our favourite shop over the weekend - Makro and saw these chairs for the girls (and US) so had to buy them, just for lazin' about!!! Loverly!

Incredabubble skys?

WA is known for it's wonderful sunsets, but normally at the beach!

We had this spectacleear one the other day from HOME (about 30Kms from the beach) so I HAD to take a photo, so you can enjoy it too?

A spot of trouble with the 'LAW' !!!

Well - I've been driving here for two months now and have seen some 'interesting' avoidance techniques as well as some cool manouvers that I didn't know a car could do!!! and in all that time, (I'm not blowing my own trumpet here) I have not had the pleasure of a one to one discussion with an officer of the Leeau (That just for those of you that have seen the Pink Panther Series!?!)

PP, on the other hand, HAS!!!

She was doing her bit for the enviro' the other day and rode her bike to the local shopping mall. No drama there...

... on her return, she became a little disoriented (as she had ridden TO the shops from SCHOOL and was now attempting to RETURN to the HOUSE) and as she was trying to find her bearings, she found herself being pulled over by a man in blue!

He asked her what the wonderful ornament was for that was hanging from her handlebars (helmet) and explained that she would be fined $50.00 for not wearing it! $50.00 !!!!!!!!!

A quick thought later, PP fluttered those eye lashes and in a strong Pommy accent, excalimed that she didn't know she had to wear her helmet on the pavement, she thought it was just for the road!! (Good thinking Batman!)

The Orificer then noticed the Pom voice and let her off with a warning - Whew!

I showed all the sympathy I could of course! and I'm STILL laughing!

Good on yer!

King's Park trip

Went to King's Park the other day - Had a BBQ on the public ones - getting brave aren't we?

Just B E A U tiful there!

Definitely going back - maybe later today?

A bit of RAIN!!!

Well - If we were missing the weather in good ol' Blighty, yesterday reminded us of how it used to be...

Perth had April's average ENITIRELY between 7.00am and 2.00pm.

The news showed people pumping out buildings and shoring up with sandbags etc.

The kids were out playing in the rain as they don't see it often.

It was funny to see ducks swimming across the park - there was NO LAKE, just rain water!!!

By 2.00, though, 'Pheobe' came out to play again and you'd never believe it was in the same day!

Pics here of Cait jumping in the pool in the rain as it was THAT cold!!! and then the three of us doing the same within two hours of Cait doing it in the rain.
