Mom n Lor visit!!!

Last sat'day, Mom n Lor (my sister) came to stay with us for a few days! It's been 14 months since we saw them last and it was SO good to see and hug 'em again!
We've seen n done so much since they arrived, so I've just put a couple of pics here for folks back in Blighty to see...
...more to follow!
This is Caversham Wildlife Park - The wildlife REALLY is wild and you have to watch out for the ones in their natural orange pelt, as they're the REALLY aggressive ones! lol
You can see here, (and caught on camera for the first time ever) that the pink "lesser-spotted Nannas" have developed their own form of transporting themselves around the bush? Ingenious!
Here, the Orange-spotted Lorrangatang has trapped and injured a helpless Roo and is showing two young how to kill it with the back of her hand!!!!

The Pink Nanna has also managed to corner a meal, which we filmed her BBQing later, but the sight was so horrific, we decided not to publish it here!!!
BTW, they have NO idea I've just written this about them, so I'm in BIG trouble when they read it! (jcp)

House build moves on...

The build is moving along nicely... The Internal walls are actually all done now, but you'll have to wait for photos of that. This is how it was last week - Cait is stood in the main lounge, just inside the front hall (above)
and (below), I'm stood in the study, taking the pic of Cait in her room.
These are the windows of the utility, Em's room and bathroom
And here, Cait is standing on a post that's in the alfresco area
More photos to come...When the roof goes on!

Thanks Fire-ees!

Today, (Sunday) we decided to take a loook at how our new house is coming along and were treated to a fantastic free show!!!

There was a bush fire a few ks away, so the flying fire patrol - the "Firees" were out to play!
They were dropping water that they were collecting from over hills, but one of them must have spotted the water in the lake, which is just meters (Yards for you Pop!) away from our new house, so they all decided to come to us to 'suck it up'!
This is how they came in to the lake.

There was a green one as well, and as Cait was so close, she could see there were TWO in this one, which made it fly a bit more stable than the red one.

I thought it was all over, so drove round the corner to take a few shots of the new place, when they both came back again. Even the channel 7 News chopper joined them!

So we ran back round the corner to watch these awsome guys do what they do best!

The house is coming along too - the outside walls and windy frames seem to be in and they've started the internal walls now.
I quite like the sky-blue ceilings, but don't go much on the carpet!?! lol

View inside, from the master bedroom.

Looking back from the theatre.

The alrescoThe 'neighbours'. Well, nearly!

We won't have close neighbours for a while, but close enough we think!
