Serpentine Dam

I said we'd put some pics of the Serpentine on didn't I?

So here they are:;

This was taken in the picnic park at the bottom of the Dam - You can see my bunny-ears were getting sun-burned if you look closely?

Here, we were using our new toy - Our portable Barby. A steal at $17.00 to cook our Smokey Bacon Snags on - BLISS!

The Sky was just incredibly clear, with so much oxygen given off by the Gum trees, it was just wonderful there! - Another one to add to the list when you guys come see us?

Leading down to the water - we took the steps, only to realise when we were there, that you could actually DRIVE down too! - Doh!

View from the top - Beautiful
GORGEOUS place to have a coffee?

This was us as we arrived. Nutts was being herself...

...Nuts!

Tallest trees in the area, made me feel quite small?

Coming back soon - for more cappuccinos of course!

Guides Promise

The girls are (as of last Thursday) OFFICIAL Guides of WA!

They took their candel-lit promise last Thursday at the Willeton Scout & Guide Hall, where they've been going for about 10 weeks now.

Here's Noonie, to explain what happened:-

First we went into horseshoe and then I went up with another girl from my patrol and we went to my guide leaders. They dressed us up with our badges which were: our reigon and Burrendah tapes, our Guides Australia badge, our reigon badge, our patrol badge (I'm Koala) and two pins, a pin with the trefoil and the guides Australia pin. Then we took a candle, our certificate, our "Look Wide" book and something we could keep a cup with our name and 1st Burrendah Guides on it.

Good - Now here's Nutly:-

Hi Guys,

Day out in 'London?'

PP wanted a day out to do some clothes shopping...

"Whoopeee" I said - NOT, so the girls and I took the opportunity to 'explore' Perth CBD and look for a bowling alley - which we DID'NT find, but DID find the Little London alley which connects St Georges Terrace to Murray Street. Lovely little alley with Perth's idea of what London shopping would've been like in medevil times, I think?
The clock tower (last picture) has animated jousters which gallp around the hole above the clock face every 1/2 hour.

Official Open Day for Work

A big day for us all in 'K-Town' as the lads call it - we think there are too many "anna-annas" in the name Kwinana! lol

The Education Minister came to officially open our new place, with Liz Harris - Our 'Principal' and other Hob-Nobs.

We had a treat as a local Drag Racing team (I always imagine leggy men dressed in sequened frocks, wearing tiarras, running round a track when I say that!) brought their 'BABY-car' to us.

They even started it up (It runs on Alcohol) - What a WASTE!!!

The REAL cars (Top fulers) run on Methanol (That bit's for you Si!)

The noise was AWSOME!!!! I could feel my eyes jiggling and found myself sliding across the floor as it was shaking too!

Some more exhibits here:

A tractor puller, Holden Commodore SSV Wagon, Scooby Doo WRX...

Oh, and NIGE with Geoff!

Sorry about the order of pics on this post - Blogger won't let me move them to where I want them? Jcp

New 4WD vid from work.

Found this on our bank of videos we keep at work.
I'm the only one to get stuck, after digging a hole about 1.5 meters (4 feet to you Pop!) deep.
Notice that I DID get out in the end though - BACKWARDS!!!

We FOUND the 'Weir'

Or actually a DAM and Reservoir!

We enjoyed our day so much last week, that we had to go back and have another look.

B e a Uuuuuu tiful, as they say on Bruce Almighty!

Sorry about the quality of pics - I took em on my phone, as we forgot to take the piggin' camera!

The tree is a VERY old Magnolia and we'll be going back to take a look when it's in flower!

Great to see more comments!

Thanks for the comments - Keep em coming! It feels like we're showing you our photo album now, and you can start to choose some of the things you nay like to try when you come see us?

I normally take the photos, Titch, so you don't see me in many of them, besides, not sure if the camera could take it!!! lol

Got the hump!

As it was the first Saturday of the month, we thought we'd go back to Kalamunda Markets up in the hills. They hold a street fair (Market) where every local seems to go, more for the social aspects than actually buying things, but we love it as its so different to where we live. From the 'local' atmosphere to the architecture, to the 'history village' and single carriage railway!

There is a WONDERFULL shop called "Little Miss Cupcake", that sells...

...You guessed it Axle Oil - I mean, Cupcakes!

The girlies fell in love with it all inside. Pink, Cream and frilly - See for yourself.

There's some artwork of all shapes n sizes and even an old Tudor Pub (which we DID'NT go in!!! Believe it or not!)

THEN - we decided to go for a drive along Mundaring Weir Road and guess what we found...

A little piece of England? (You thought I was going to say Roos, didn't you?)

It is GORGEOUS up here - More nature than you can shake a stick at!

"I seem to have lost me binocleeeers"

THEN...

We found a sign saying TEA-ROOMS, so it would be rude not to see inside wouldn't it?

But it was MORE interesting on the OUTside!

Aparently, Australia has more camels than Arabia!

They were very well behaved and we could even stroke them.

THEN - as if that wasn't enough, we went a bit further along the Weir road and found a place called Golden View.

We never did find the WEIR!!!
