A foggy start......

We had a bit of a break in the winter weather today and it was a beautiful sunny day after a bit of a 'London' moment first thing?

But it soon cleared away, so we decided to pop into Freo for a bit of lunch and to get our usual fruit n veg.
This is E-shed markets, where we can get a plate of Chinese and a drink all for $9.00!!! The 'other' 'beverages' were additional, but it'd be rude not to wouldn't it?

The guy in the background is the local 'pub-singer' but he's quite good and sings/plays things like "he aint heavy", "nights in white satin" & "miss america pie" etc, so it's good to sit and people watch, or to see everything through rose-coloured... ...drink! as Caity is here - It's actually Dragon Fruit Mineral Drink, believe it or not???

A good day, so you'll have to share a 'beverage' or two with us when you come visit?

New home for WORK

Well, we finally made it to Kwinana, from Freo and have moved into our new $12 Million home.

Nice to have all new bits n pieces, but it's been a lot of work to get ready in ONE week as students start next Monday!

New POOL table

No, Not a Pooltable, but a Pool Table!

Found some rubbish at work in the form of an old HGV axle stand (Not used any more as it hasn't been assessed by Aus standards commission) and an old piece of chipboard that was in the skip, so I had the idea of joining them together and then the girls could mosaic the top with some broken tiles.

It didn't look good at the start...

It was just a bit of rough wood that we used a home-made compass to draw a circle, which we then cut out with a jigsaw.

We then drew our design of two seahorses, which we were going to use as a guide for the tiling.
The leg was a bit rusty, so we had to sand it down and paint it with primer and glossy black paint.

We then had a smashing time with pliers and tiles to make all the 'broken' pieces to stick on the wood.
It took ages to stick them all down as it kept raining and even HAILED (it was quite cold yesterday, Friday)

But today was a MUCH better day, so...

We finnished it!

What do you think?

Aus TV - HILLARIOUS!!!

We like this ad on the telly, advertising health insurance. The way they express themselves is just as kids should be...
...innocent!

Noonie's cook-over

Noonie went to her friend's house for a sleepover last week, whilst Nutly stayed at home with us. We watched 'Miracle on 34th Street' and ate popcorn etc.

Noonie and Tianah had a ball, cooking cookies and icing them in 'interesting' colours as you'll see? I think they managed to get more icing on themselves, than on the cookies???

Snow in the city and rain at home

The school holidays are always well-catered for in Perth. The radio advert depicts a child asking mummy what a snowman is, so they've put on a show in the middle of the city to let children see and feel the cold stuff.

They reckon there was 10,000 tons of it at the 'snowfields in the city' but I reckon that must be over the two week period, but the girls had fun! PP and I had to have a coffee of course!

It was quite cold, but dry until we got home, when the clouds seemed to have a problem staying up in the sky?

Another day at Scitech

We went to Scitech ahain today, with Pete, Sam and Lilly.

We'd been before, but I forgot to take the camera last time, so only managed to get a shot of the OUTside, if you remember?

Took it inside today and had some more fun.

The Planetarium (where NO photography is allowed) is STILL AMAZING, so its a shame we can't show you that here. You'll just have to come visit and we'll TAKE you there!
The first photo is of Noonie, using an air cannon to 'shoot' Caity and Lilly (No children were harmed during the making of this photo!)
The other two are of Cait and Lilly using the air pump message sender (as used in REAL factories and banks), You're supposed to sit on the blue bellow thingies to send the shuttle across to the other end, but Cait's little peach couldn't manage it, so she had to JUMP on it instead!

Perth CBD shots

Just some general shots of Perth Central Business District (CBD) we took last week.

4wd day

End of Semester One, so we HAVE to take holidays as we're not quite ready to move into the new centre yet - nearly, but not quite, so we (lads at work) decided to go 'bush-bashing'!!!
What a day! We drove for an hour from our place, North to a place called Pinjara, where we turned OFF road and started 'skiing' on sand. Brilliant fun! I was in Finn's Discovery to start (ON road) but changed to Travis' Rav 4 when we went bashing, so we had to take it easy as Travis 'chrishes' his little 'off-roader'. Malc called it a 'poofter's car' !!!
I changed to Malc's Terrano after lunch, which is an auto, so a different technique needed to keep it charging instead of changing up as soon as the wheels started spinning.
We reached the 'uphill' bit of our journey and we all changed cars, so I had a go in Finn's Discovery (without diff-locks first) and got a bit 'stuck' so turned on the diff locks and it just crawled out of the hole I'd 'dug' with me just steering!! Fantastic!
More photos of this adventure to follow, as I collect the others' pics.

This is the sky at the moment - a bit 'strange' to say the least?

More WINTER blues...

My day off, I mean DUTIES OTHER THAN TEACHING day today, so looking forward to spending 'me-time' with PP, but it was not to be - she was called in to work, so I had the day to myself!

Spent some time on the car - Bessie needed a little 'attention' to her regulator, so the battery charges now! But had to remove the only layer I was wearing as it was too piggin' hot! IN WINTER!!

Collected PP and the girlies from school and spent a while hoovering the pool, when Caity rose her Cargy into the pool - no brakes you see? lol

See photo of her drying it off after we 'fished' it out with the pool rod!
